Bracken Bank is a famous shooting lodge and 700 acre estate. The impressive building dates from the 16th Century and is traditionally furnished with antiques, oil paintings, sporting prints and hunting trophies.
The lodge is home to the Burtons, a colonial family, and the renowned Bracken Bank gun dogs. The lodge is the perfect venue for shooting and fishing breaks, B&B and an overnight stop for cyclists on the C2C and Land's End to John O-Groats routes.
The lodge is full of character and has a wonderful atmosphere. The single and double bedrooms all have four poster beds and there is a snooker room for guests use.
Hearty brakfasts cooked on the Aga are highly recommended.
The stunning private estate hosts a wide range of quality sporting activities, including clay pigeon shooting lessons.
The spacious boarding kennels on the estate, enable guests to bring their own dogs.
The lodge lies in the heart of the Eden valley in the North Lake District, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The historic market town of Penrith is just six miles away. Bracken Bank Lodge is ideally located for a wealth of outdoor activities and for exploring the Lake District.
