Nestling in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors in an idyllic rural location, Fat Ox Cottage is a recently converted barn and can be found within the grounds of a dairy farm.
Situated approximately 2 miles from Lealholm and Danby, complete with National Park visitor centre, the cottage ensures an ideal base for couples and families alike, with excellent walking from the doorstep. Ideally located for exploring the costal resorts of Whitby, Runswick Bay, Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes, all within easy reach, together with the North Yorks Moors steam railway running between Pickering, Grosmont and Whitby.
Rosedale, Danby and Goathland, alias Aidensfield in the popular TV series of Heartbeat are also within easy reach. For those who enjoy the outdoors, excellent footpaths walks direct from the cottage lead into the beautiful Esk Valley.
Please Note: This cottage is situated on a working dairy farm and a milk tanker passes close to the cottage every morning at about 9am.

By Car from the South:
Take the A171 from Whitby towards Guisborough. Take the turn off for Lealholm. Follow the road through the village, past the Board Inn and up the hill. Take the first turn on the right for Fryup. Follow the road round to the T junction. Turn right down the hill and take the next turning on the left past the Great Fryup Dale sign. The cottage is situated at the first farm on the left about 200 yards along the road. By Car from the North: Take the A171 from Guisborough for Whitby. Take the turn off for Danby. Follow the road into Danby and turn left at the cross roads towards Lealholm. Follow the road down the valley, past the National Parks center. Take the turn off on the right for Fryup. Follow the road round to the T junction. Turn right up the hill. Take the next turn right at the Great Fryup Dale sign. Follow the road along to the first farm on the right, about 200 yards along. The cottage is situated here. |
