Situated in open farmland in The Laich of Moray, our cottages enjoy views of the surrounding countryside with the hills of Sutherland visible over the Moray Firth. On our family farm are six courtyard cottages which were created from the original eighteenth century farm steading at Carden in 1994 and Grieves Cottage our dog friendly cottage.

At Carden the outdoor facilities include a play area, all weather tennis court and farm walks. Indoors the games room is furnished with a pool table, table tennis table and tourist information. We are members of the Green Tourism Business Scheme at the Bronze level and adhere to the principles of being environmentally aware and responsible.

The area is predominantly a farming locality and is renowned for its mild dry climate and the quality of its crops and livestock. The village of Alves, a mile way, has a pub and the sands of Burghead Bay can be reached by car in five minutes. Four miles east is the Cathedral City of Elgin with a good selection of shops, Johnstons Cashmere Visitor Centre, the Moray Leisure Centre with its pool complex and ice rink and a local Cinema. Forres seven miles west is an attractive town with award winning parks, floral displays, interesting local shops and free parking! From the attractive village of Findhorn, a favourite of watersports enthusiasts to the sands of Lossiemouth the local coastline offers a wealth of terrain and nature.

Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, with all a thriving city has to offer is just over thirty miles from the doorstep. Royal Deeside, Strathspey, the Isle of Skye and even John o' Groats can be visited on a day trip. While closer to your holiday home, there are many walks to discover, dolphins, porpoises, ospreys and otters to spot, golf courses to challenge you, The Coastal and Castle Trails to explore and the only Malt Whisky Trail in the world to follow!

With over twenty years in the business we continue to believe that we offer a truly unique experience in self-catering and that our personal touches make each and every cottage a real home from home. We are open all year and invite you to treat yourself to a "Carden Holiday". A warm welcome awaits you whatever the weather, time of year and length of your stay.
