Directions

Banff can be reached from the South via Aberdeen (46 miles) or from the North via Inverness (66 miles).
For journeys from England, head for Glasgow but bypass it, following signs for North, Stirling, Dundee, Aberdeen.
Aberdeen, follow signs to Banff A947, passing through Newmachar, Oldmeldrum, Fyvie and Turriff.

Once you reach Banff, pass the golf course and football stadium, then turn left following signs for Huntly and Aberchirder A97, pass two mini roundabouts (second one is Fife Lodge Hotel entrance).
Go straight on for half a mile then turn left at Deer Park Farm (signpost is on the left and very easy to miss).
This is now a single track road. Continue straight on until road forks left or right.
Follow road to the right for ¾ mile until you come to a very large Wellingtonia tree (lucky “Penny tree” to locals) in the middle of the road.
Turn right through the gates of Craig Alvah Lodge and take a sharp left to Craig Cottage.

Glasgow 3 ½ hrs, Edinburgh 3 hrs, Manchester 7hrs, London 11 hrs

From Deer Park Farm please drive very carefully as this road is part of the walk from Duff House through the Wrack woodlands to the Bridge of Alvah and regularly has people walking and, as darkness comes, so do the wildlife deer, badgers, rabbits, foxes and other wildlife, so please drive very carefully.
