The Badger Sett is a luxury Lake District holiday cottage comfortably sleeping 6 people (plus babies!). Situated in a secluded valley, the lovely Lakeland village of Hesket Newmarket, with its famous co-operatively owned pub and micro brewery, The Old Crown, is just a one mile stroll down a peaceful country lane.
The remote Caldbeck Fells are on the doorstep and provide fantastic opportunities for walking and mountain biking and The Caldew and Caldbeck Rivers which run through the valley are excellent for kayaking.
If you prefer more hustle and bustle the popular market town of Keswick (arguably the outdoor capital of the UK) is just a 25 minute drive away whilst the beautiful Ullswater lies fifteen miles to the south. For long distance walkers The Cumbria Way passes through the valley and for road cyclists The Reivers Route (known as the Return CTC) goes right past the bottom of our drive!
The Badger Sett has been extensively but sympathetically modernised throughout and is luxuriously furnished. It's all on one level and the safe, enclosed garden make it ideal for families with small children. And if you find it impossible to leave work behind there's free wifi too!
Briefly the accommodation comprises:
Master Bedroom (king size bed, wood burning stove, sliding doors to patio and garden)
Bedroom 2 (king size bed with views across fields)
Bedroom 3 (2 x single divans which can be joined together to form a Super King, also with views across fields)
Kitchen (bespoke luxury kitchen with dishwasher, induction hob, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer)
Living / Dining room (large l-shaped room with beautiful open views across the valley - sliding doors open on to patio, TV with cinema surround sound, DVD player and extensive DVD library)
Bathroom / WC
Shower room / WC
Outside the cottage is surrounded by enclosed mature gardens (relax in the Hammock!) and is approached via a gated driveway. There is an outside dining area (with BBQ), parking for up to 3 cars and a tap for washing muddy bikes and boots.
