Barlborough is an ancient village mentioned in the Domesday Book.It contains estate houses built by the Rodes family. The village cross and church date back to Norman times.
There is a unique Archway with Hebrew,Latin and Greek inscriptions.The Towns well is dressed every year in July.The village has many listed buildings and you can discover their history in the local Heritage Centre which is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays,Thursdays 9.00am until 2.00pm and Saturdays 10.00am till 12.00 pm. The Heritage Centre is housed in an old Victorian Schoolmasters House.
There are many local walks around Barlborough and free informative walk leaflets can be obtained from the Heritage Centre.
