Nestled on the sandy beaches of the Dornoch Firth, the village of Dornoch is a real Highland gem.

The beautiful architecture and the locals' obvious care of their gardens and parks, makes Dornoch a truly stunning little village.

At the heart of the village is its grand medieval church which sits in a conservation area opposite the old Castle and Jailhouse. The turreted buildings of pink stone look like something out of a fairy tale.

Dornoch's unfortunate claim to fame is that it was the last place in Britain where, in 1722, a woman was tried and executed for witchcraft. The witch's stone near the square is a small reminder of this murky past, which seems so out of place in the genuine feel of community and idyllic village life you get breathing in the crisp fresh air as you walk through the immaculate streets and down to the beach.

Dornoch offers a world renowned Royal Golf Course, a variety of walks through the forests or along the beaches.

Despite being the famous site of Madonna and Guy Ritchie's wedding, Dornoch retains a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere which just makes you want to move there.
