Market Lavington is a large, friendly and thriving village on the northern slopes of Salisbury Plain, about five miles south of Devizes. Market Lavington has always been a lively community, and for centuries was one of Wiltshire's foremost market towns. In 2004 it celebrated the 750th anniversary of the granting of its market charter.

Although it has all the character and charm of a traditional Wiltshire village, and is set in the midst of beautiful countryside, Market Lavington has always been a working community. Today it offers many facilities not found in other villages. With shops including a Co-op supermarket, chemist, butcher, newsagent, post office, two hairdressers, three pubs and a number of small businesses, you can buy almost anything you need in the village.

Market Lavington is unusual, and fortunate, in having a pre-school, a primary school and a secondary school, all offering excellent standards of education for young villagers. We also have a new, state-of-the-art doctors' surgery, a library, a community hall and even our own Village Museum!
