Things to do in Ollach, Highland |
Ollach is one of the most beautiful little corners of Skye. Divided by the Ollach river into Lower Ollach and Upper Ollach, it lies about five miles from the island's capital, Portree, on a single track road. It overlooks the Sound of Raasay and the Island of Raasay beyond.
Its ancient woods of birch, hazel, rowan, willow, holly and bird cherry are home to a wide range of flora and fauna. There is a path that takes you through the woods up onto the ridge behind them for spectacular views over the island (park in the Braes community hall car park).
