In the centre of town, and used as a working Police Station from 1881 to its closure in 1974, this listed building still has the original charge room which now houses the local Tourist Information Centre.
It also houses the town museum tracing the social history and maritime history of the Porthcawl area, as well as a collection of war mementos, artifacts, costumes and records of the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist founded in 1189.
The museum contains an exhibition of the Welsh guards featuring memorabilia of the Guards from its formation in 1915 to the present. Porthcawl Art Society display a changing collection of work on the first floor.
