Campsite: 6658 East Sussex

Crowborough

  • Lovely views.

  • Fishing close by.
  • Bookmark and Share

If you like to get away from it all and have a peaceful break, with countryside views to the South Downs and Westerly sunsets, and wildlife (foxes, badgers, pheasants, deer-inc a white hart if you're lucky), but still be close to visitor attractions and local amenities, then Owlsbury Park is for you.

It is a small site licensed by the Camping and Caravanning Club, although there is an adjacent site for non members (ground conditions permitting). There are footpaths nearby and coarse fishing within walking distance (our own ponds will be ready from early 2011).

Local shops, takeaways and restaurants are 1 to 2 miles distant. Historical Tunbridge Wells is about 8 miles and there is Crowborough main line station to London Bridge and Victoria 1.5 miles away. Buses go from Crowborough to Brighton (35 miles) and Tunbridge Wells. Nearby attractions are Sheffield Park, Wakehurst Place, Ashdown Forest, Hever Castle, plus several others of repute.

We have hardstandings, toilets, and solar lighting, as well as the necessary drinking water and chemical disposal point. Unfortunately we have no electricity, so no showers, but there is the facility to hire a quiet 'suitcase' generator at reasonable cost if required.
Non members can join on arrival to avail of preferential rates.

Take the turning to Crowborough railway station/Rotherfield, (B2100). After 2 miles go under the railway bridge and take the 2nd right turn into Western Rd (signed Buxted/Hadlow Down). After 0.4 miles turn left opposite Parker Builders Supplies.
