Great Bardfield is a small village near Finchingfield. It has its own museum in the centre, a primary school and a tourist information centre for those wishing for more information.

It has a beautiful church and a fine collection of houses dating back to the 16th century. Great Bardfield is home the 19th century Bardfield cage, a village lock up, which was used for the punishment of unsavoury characters.

The Bardfield Players put on twice yearly shows which are very successful.

The High Barn is just up the road, this is one of the oldest and finest timber framed barns in Britain. It contains a theatre, conference facilities and a recording studio.

We have 2 public houses and a number of groups including the Tuesday club, historical society and Great Bardfield history project. It is a pleasant place to visit.
