Things to do in Northwich, Cheshire
Northwich is a medium size town built on industry and waterways heritage. It boasts some unique attractions such as the Anderton Boatlift (about 3 miles from the town centre) and the Salt Museum. This museum is well worth a visit as it shows how the town prospered, but also suffered, from its rich salt mines.
For visitors who want fresh air, there are many canal and river side walks and the pleasant surroundings of Marbury Park on the town's outskirts.
The usual supermarkets and town centre shops are here, however Blakemere Craft Centre boasts some unique gifts and also has a fascinating Birds of Prey centre that is sure to appeal to all ages.
The best restaurant in Northwich is the Curious Orange in the town centre which combines traditional British and World influences to create some mouthwatering dishes. There are also traditional pubs, Chinese and Indian restaurants and numerous takeaways.
Northwich has plentiful parking and good transport links with nearby towns and cities via bus or train.
In Northwich you are never far away from countryside and water and this is what is so appealing.
