Tintagel, is the legendary birthplace of King Arthur. An Iron Age castle and settlement preceded the 13th century castle whose ruins can still be seen.
Tintagel Castle - Set on a wild and windswept Atlantic headland, Tintagel Castle had been a Celtic stronghold before becoming home to Earl of Cornwall. However it is better known as the legendary birthplace of King Arthur and home to Merlin, the magician.
Tintagel Old Post Office - A house of great antiquity, now in the care of the National Trust. This small 14th century manor house is full of charm and character, there is some fine oak furniture and a small collection of samplers.
