Things to do in Tottington, Norfolk |
Once a beautiful village, Tottington has been uninhabited since 1942 when the World War II UK War Department aquired it for trianing purposes.
The village was made part of the Stanford Military Training Area and its inhabitants dispersed to surrounding villages. At the time of aquisition the villagers believed they would be returning to their homes and farms once hostilities were over. However, this has yet to happen and today Tottington's church is now the only building maintained to pre-aquisition standards.
