The museum is housed in a beautiful old stone cottage with seven rooms of displays and an attractive garden.
The displays include: An atmospheric traditional Exmoor kitchen; A tremendous variety of domestic bygones; fine paintings, engravings and photographs illustrating life in the area over a period of 200 years; the Lynmouth Flood Disaster of 1952; unique photographs and models of the Lynton-Barnstaple Railway; ancient Stone Age implements and other archaeological remains found on Exmoor; a fascinating collection of agricultural tools and equipment used on Exmoor farms in the past; a robust ship's figurehead and other reminders of the rich maritime heritage of the Lynmouth area; a delightful fully-furnished Victorian doll's house and other toys; birds, animals, fossils, rocks, minerals and other natural history items of Exmoor; old souvenirs of Exmoor and Lorna Doone.
